Grand View Captures Third-Straight Heart Men’s Indoor Track & Field Title

For the third-straight season, Grand View University took home the Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship, as they won the 2022 event on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo.

The Vikings finished with 223.5 points, finishing ahead of second-place Benedictine, who had 106 points.

David Mannella of Benedictine scored the most points of any male athlete at the event with his 20.5 total points scored.

He won the men's 800m in a time of 1:55.12 and won the men's distance medley with a time of 10:37.86. He also finished second in the men's 1,000m. He just finished ahead of Grand View's Trevor Albert and Central Methodist's Taylor Bottomley for the most points in the championship, as Albert and Bottomley both finished with 20 total points.

The Heart will announce the 2022 Coach of the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year, Track Athlete of the Meet and Field Athlete of the Meet on Monday, February 21.

The top three finishers in each event were be considered 2022 Heart Indoor Track & Field All-Conference athletes. 1^st Place = First Team All-Conference, 2^nd Place = Second Team All-Conference, 3^rd Place = Third Team All-Conference, and fourth, fifth and sixth place finishers in each event will be considered 2022 Heart Indoor Track & Field Honorable Mention All-Conference.
