2022 Heart Men’s Indoor Track & Field Postseason Awards Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference completed the 2022 Heart Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, February 19, and the Heart is now pleased to announce its Men's Indoor Track & Field Postseason awards.

The following awards were voted on by the Heart Track & Field head coaches:

2022 Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year – Jerry Monner – Grand View University

This marks the third-straight Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year honor for Coach Monner, as the Vikings won their third-straight Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday.

Grand View scored 223.5 total points, finishing ahead of second place Benedictine who garnered 106 points.

2022 Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field Assistant Coach of the Year – Lindsey Andrews – Grand View University

Grand View University's Lindsey Andrews was named the 2022 Men's Indoor Track & Field Assistant Coach of the Year after helping lead the Vikings to their third-straight Heart title.

Coach Andrews was also selected the 2022 Heart Women's Indoor Track & Field Co-Assistant Coach of the Year.

2022 Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field – Track Athlete of the Meet – David Mannella – Benedictine College

Mannella scored a total of 20.5 points at the conference championship on Saturday. Mannella captured three, first-place finishes, as he won the men's 800m in a time of 1:55.12, he also finished first in the men's distance medley in a time of 10:37.86 and took home second in the 1,000m race in a time of 2:32.14. 

2022 Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field – Field Athlete of the Meet – Taylor Bottomley – Central Methodist University

Bottomley was also the 2021 Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field – Field Athlete of the Meet. In 2022 at the Heart Championship, he won the shot put with a toss of 16.08m and the weight throw with a mark of 21.66m.
