
Central Methodist Sweeps First Heart Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors of 2024

All four awards went to the Eagles, as Dayana Montenegro was selected the Heart Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Renne Finke earned the Heart Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award.
On the men's side, Chris Adekoya earned the Heart Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor and teammate Jaxon Hiser was selected the Heart Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Montenegro and the Eagles competed at the Redhawks Invite on Saturday. The junior posted a third place finish in the 55m dash with a time of 7.34 seconds. She also took home fifth in the women's 200m in a time of 27.10.
Finke competed in three events at the Redhawks Invite. The junior won the high jump with a mark of 1.70m, hitting the 'A' standard of qualification for the 2024 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
She also took home 13th in the shot put with a toss of 10.48m and ran the 55m hurdles in a time of 8.80 seconds, good for sixth place.
Adekoya broke the school record in the men's 55m dash at the Redhawks Invite with a time of 6.30m, winning the event. The previous school mark had stood for 11 years.
Hiser competed in the pole vault on Saturday and placed T-3rd out of 22 competitors with a mark of 4.60m.
