First WinWon Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week of 2024 Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its first WinWon Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week award winners of 2024 on Monday.

Jabez Rivers of Culver-Stockton College earned the WinWon Track Athlete of the Week honor, while Colder Evans of Central Methodist University earned the Field Athlete of the Week honor.

Rivers competed at the CMU Open in three events, the 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles and 4x400m relay.

The junior set a school record in the 400m hurdles in a time of 56.34. In the 110m hurdles he ran the third-fastest time in school history at 15.73. He also led the 4x400m relay team to a first-place finish in a time of 3:30.43.

Evans competed in three events, the shot put, discus and hammer throw. The junior placed first in all three events.

He hit the NAIA 'A' standard of qualification for the NAIA National Championships in the shot put with his mark of 16.09m.

He also finished first in the discus with a mark of 48.50m, hitting the NAIA 'B' standard and placed first in the hammer throw with a toss of 53.64, also hitting the NAIA 'B' standard.
