Adekoya, Adams Earn WinWon Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its WinWon Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards on Monday afternoon. 

Chris Adekoya of Central Methodist earned the WinWon Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while Daniel Adams of Clarke was awarded the WinWon Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Adekoya competed in three events at the Central Methodist Invitational last Saturday. The junior won the 100m dash in a time of 10.32, he followed that up with a second-place finish in a time of 21.41 in the 200m dash. That time also broke a school record. 

In his final event, he and his teammates won the 4x100m relay in a time of 40.65. That time hit the NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification for the NAIA National Championships. The Eagles also broke the school record.

Adams also competed at the CMU Invite and won the men's high jump with a mark of 2.10m. The freshman also hit the NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification for the NAIA National Championships.
