Willey, Thompson Selected Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes the Week on Monday afternoon.

Blake Willey of Grand View is this week's Heart Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, while Keegan Thompson of Mount Mercy collected the Heart Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award.

Willey competed at the Bearcat Invite on Saturday, home of the 2025 Heart Indoor Championships. The senior placed 3rd out of 41 competitors in the men's shot put with a mark of 17.04m.

He improved his NAIA 'A' Standard mark and is the No. 1 shot put thrower in the Heart currently.

Thompson competed at the Wartburg Friday Night Lights event last Friday and won the men's 60-meter dash in a time of 6.83, hitting the NAIA 'B' Standard of qualification for the NAIA National Championship.
