Heart Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week – March 27

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday, as Tafara Hondonga of William Penn was selected the Heart Track Athlete of the Week, while Baker University's Gage Hiebert earned the Heart Field Athlete of the Week. 

Hondonga and the Statesmen competed at the Grand View Viking Relays and the senior won the men's 400-meter dash in a time of 49.38. He finished in first-place ahead of all 20 competitors.

Hiebert and the Wildcats hosted the Baker Relays on Saturday in Baldwin City and the junior won the men's Javelin with a toss of 57.33m to hit the NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification. He also placed second in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 50.10.
