Heart Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week – April 10

The Heart of America Athletic Conference Announced its Heart Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors on Monday afternoon. 

Showalter Johnson of William Penn earned the Heart Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award, while Colder Evans of CMU earned his second-straight Heart Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Johnson competed in three events at the Central Dutch Invitational, as he took on the 100-meter, 200-meter and 4x100-meter relay team.

He placed second out of 45 athletes in the 100-meter in a time of 10.59, hitting the NAIA 'B' Standard of qualification for nationals.

The Nassau, Bahamas native also placed third overall in the 200-meter in a time of 21.71 and won the 4x100 meter relay with his teammates in a time of 42.26.

Evans and the Eagles competed at the Lincoln University Open. The sophomore participated in the discus and hammer throw. He placed third in the discus with a mark of 49.38m, and hit the NAIA 'A' Standard of Qualification. He placed sixth overall in the hammer throw with a mark of 52.87.
