Heart Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week – April 24

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday. 

David Mannella of Benedictine College was selected the Heart Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while Justice Miller of Grand View garnered the Heart Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Mannella competed at the Emporia State Midwest Classic in the men's 800-meter race and placed second overall with a time of 1:52.10.

He hit the NAIA 'B' Standard of qualification for the NAIA Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.

Miller competed at the DeBacker Invitational and won the men's javelin with a toss of 187' 2" ahead of 20 competitors.

He won the event by almost three meters and broke the previous school record by two meters. He also hit the NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification.
