Grand View Wins Fifth-Straight Heart Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Conference Championship

Grand View University captured its fifth-straight Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Conference Championship on Saturday, as they earned 164 points, 53 points ahead of second-place Benedictine College.

Under the direction of head coach Miradieu Joseph, the Vikings earned five first-place finishes including the 110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, 800-meter, 1,500-meter, 5,000-meter race walk, and discus.

Grand View's Carter Huyser had the most points of any male athletes in the championship with 25, he won the 800m and 1,500m races for the Vikings. 

The following awards will be announced on Monday, Heart Coach of the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year, Track Athlete of the Meet and Field Athlete of the Meet.

The top three finishers in each event will be considered 2023 Heart Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference athletes. 1^st Place = First Team All-Conference, 2^nd Place = Second Team All-Conference, 3^rd Place = Third Team All-Conference, and fourth, fifth and sixth place finishers in each event will be considered 2022 Heart Outdoor Track & Field Honorable Mention All-Conference.
