Heart Men’s Volleyball Players of the Week – March 27

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's Volleyball Players of the Week on Monday, as Daniel Galili of No. 10 Grand View earned the Heart Attacker of the Week, while teammates of No. 15 ranked Missouri Baptist, Michael Olson and David Rudic were selected the Heart Defender and Setter of the Week respectively. 

Galili and the Vikings ended the regular season with a 3-1 win over No. 12 Mount Mercy, then opened the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament with a 3-1 win over (RV) Missouri Valley.

In the two matches, the sophomore registered 37 total kills, 20 against the Mustangs and 17 against the Vikings. He averaged 4.63 kills per set. The Vikings are the No. 3 seed in the Heart Conference Tournament and will take on No. 2 William Penn on Wednesday in the Heart Semifinals.

Olson and the Spartans went 2-0 last week, with a 3-0 win over Marville (Mo.) to end the regular season and in the Heart Quarterfinals they upset Mount Mercy, 3-2.

In the two victories, the junior was perfect in serve/receive with 30 receptions and had 14 total digs and four total blocks. The No. 5 seeded Spartans will now travel to No. 1 Park in the Heart Conference Tournament Semifinals.

Rudic had a total of 74 assists in MBU's two matches last week, averaging 9.25 assists per set. He added three kills against Mount Mercy and had eight digs in that victory.
