Final Heart Men’s Volleyball Players of the Week of 2024 Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced the final Heart Men's Volleyball Player of the Week awards of 2024 on Monday.

Joao Friedrich of No. 12 Park University was named the Heart Attacker of the Week, while teammate Eduardo Sabi earned the Heart Setter of the Week and Marko Jovanovic of No. 8 Missouri Baptist was selected the Heart Defender of the Week.

Friedrich and the Pirates had an outstanding week last week, as they defeated No. 4 William Penn and No. 11 Missouri Valley, as well as Heart opponent Culver-Stockton.

The senior had 29 kills against William Penn and averaged 5.80 kills per set. For the week, he collected 43 total kills and hit .322.

Sabi averaged 11 assists per set in two matches for Park last week, as he had 49 in the win over William Penn and 39 against nationally ranked Missouri Valley, in just three sets.

Javanovic and the Spartans went 2-1 last week, as the Libero collected 40 total digs in those three matches, averaging 3.33 digs per set. His high for the week was 18 in a 3-1 win over Clarke.
