Heart Men's Volleyball Players of the Week Announced - March 10

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's Volleyball Weekly awards on Monday afternoon.

Grant Hoover of UHSP was selected the Heart Attacker of the Week, while Lucas Rodrigues of No. 11 ranked Missouri Valley earned the Heart Setter of the Week and Veljko Culibrk of No. 4 Missouri Baptist was selected the Heart Defender of the Week.

Hoover averaged 5.5 kills per set last week, as the Eutectics went 2-1 with two Heart victories, one against Clarke and another against No. 7 ranked Mount Mercy.

The sophomore had over 20 kills in each match, including 24 against the Mustangs.

Rodrigues and the Vikings earned two big Heart victories last week, a win over No. 15 ranked William Penn in four sets and a win over No. 6 Grand View.

The senior had 50 assists in the win over Grand View and 46 against William Penn, for an average of 12.00 assists per set.

Culibrk continues to perform well in the middle for the Spartans, as he had 11 total blocks in two matches last week, including 11 in a win over Cumberland (Tenn.) and 11 in a loss against No. 7 Mount Mercy. For the week he averaged 2.00 blocks per set.
