
Heart Cross Country Runners of the Week – September 20
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its second Heart Cross Country Runner of the Week awards on Monday, as Valerie Power of Baker University earned the Heart Women’s Runner of the Week honor and Benedictine College’s David Mannella is the Heart Men’s Runner of the Week.

Power and the Wildcats finished in first-place at the Southern Stampede race in Joplin, Missouri last Saturday. The junior ran the 5K in a time of 18:55 to finish in third-place overall. The event featured 103 runners.
Mannella and the Ravens competed at the Woody Greeno/Dirkson Invite in Lincoln, Nebraska and the sophomore ran the second fastest 8K time in program history with a time of 25:46. He placed 47th overall, but was the top NAIA finisher in a field of NCAA Division II, III and NAIA runners.
