Grand View Duo Sweeps Heart Cross Country Runner of the Week Awards

Grand View University cross country swept this week's Heart Weekly awards, as Trevor Albert was awarded the Heart Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week and teammate Morgan Lawson earned her second Heart Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week award of 2021. 

Albert helped his team win the Grand View Viking Invitational at the DMACC Cross Country Course in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Eldon, Iowa native ran the 8K event in a time of 25:26 to place second overall in a race that featured 94 runners. 

Lawson and her teammates took home first place at its host Viking Invitational, as the senior won the individual crown with her time of 18:56.

She outpaced the 5K race of 65 total competitors. Her time of 18:56 was a personal best time.
