No. 8 Ranked Central Methodist Sweeps First Heart Softball Weekly Awards

The No. 8 nationally ranked Central Methodist Softball program swept the first Heart Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Jordyn Ball was selected the Heart Pitcher of the Week, while teammate Lauren Hill earned the Heart Player of the Week.

Hill and the Eagles went 3-0 last week with a 9-1 win over McPherson in game one of a doubleheader and 8-0 in game two. They also defeated Bellevue, 5-1, on Feb. 11.

In those three games, the junior hit .556 with five hits including two doubles and a home run and she knocked in six runs.

Ball went 2-0 last week and had two complete games, including a no-hitter in the 8-o win over McPherson.

In 12 innings of work, she allowed just one earned run and she struck out a total of 15 batters.
