Heart Announces Musco Softball Player of the Week Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Musco Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards on Monday.

Jessica Walljasper of (RV) Grand View was named the Heart Player of the Week, while Bailey Selvage of Benedictine College is the Heart Pitcher of the Week.

Walljasper hit .471 on the week for the Vikings, with eight hits, nine RBI and an impressive five home runs.

The Vikings went 5-1 on the trip to Florida, including a 5-3 win over No. 22 ranked Southeastern.

Selvage went 3-0 last week with 33 total strikeouts and is now a perfect 5-0 on the season overall with a 0.88 ERA and 47 strikeouts.
