Musco Softball Players of the Week Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Musco Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards on Monday.

Clare Heitz of No. 22 ranked Benedictine College earned the Musco Player of the Week honor, while Jessica Walljasper of (RV) Grand View was selected the Pitcher of the Week.

Heitz and the Ravens went 6-0 last week, with three sweeps over Peru State, Clarke and Mount Mercy.

The senior hit safely in all six games with seven extra-base hits. She hit two home runs, four doubles and an impressive 14 RBI.

Walljasper threw a perfect game in a 9-0 win over Missouri Valley on April 5. The senior struck out eight batters in the victory and 15 strikeouts on the week. In 11 total innings, she allowed just three earned runs.
