Baker University Sweeps Musco Softball Player of the Week Honors

The Heart of America Athletic Conference continued its spring Player of the Week honors on Monday, as the conference announced its Musco Softball Player of the Week awards. 

(RV) Baker University swept the honors, as Kira Baker earned the Musco Softball Pitcher of the Week and teammate Mary Grace Hess earned the Player of the Week nod.

Hess went 7-for-12 in Baker's four-game sweep over Graceland and William Penn last week.

The senior hit two home runs in game two against Graceland and knocked in five RBI. For the week she hit .583.

Kira Baker earned three wins in four games for the Wildcats last week. In a 9-1 win over Graceland, the sophomore threw a one-hitter and struck out 13 batters.

Then against William Penn, she earned a shutout victory, 1-0. She struck out six batters in that contest and allowed just four hits.
