
2025 Heart Women's Basketball Postseason Awards Announced
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its 2025 Heart Women's Basketball All-Conference teams and postseason award winners on Friday afternoon.
Each of the Heart All-Conference teams and postseason award winners were selected by the Heart head coaches.
Player of the Year - Ella Larsen - Grand View University
Larsen had an all-around fantastic season for the Vikings, averaging 16.7 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. She also had 61 steals, earning a spot on the Heart All-Defensive Team.
Defensive Player of the Year - Keona Schenck - MidAmerica Nazarene University
Schenck was a force on the defensive side of the ball for the Pioneers, with her 71 total steals on the season with 60 in Heart play.
Newcomer of the Year - Keona Schenck - MidAmerica Nazarene University
In her first season with the Pioneers, Schenck averaged 13.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
Freshman of the Year - Zaylee Werth - MidAmerica Nazarene University
In her first collegiate season, Werth averaged 10.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
Coach of the Year - Jon Lewis - MidAmerica Nazarene University
Coach Lewis and the Pioneers earned the No. 1 seed in the Heart Conference Tournament and won the Heart regular season championship after a perfect 24-0 record in Heart regular season play.
Assistant Coach of the Year - Alexis McAfee - MidAmerica Nazarene University
Coach Mcafee and the Pioneers have won 25-straight games and haven't lost since November 9.
