William Penn Golf Sweeps Heart Weekly Awards
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Golfer of the Week award winners on Monday, as a William Penn duo swept the honors with Sam Maceli capturing back-to-back Heart Women’s Golfer of the Week and Jordan Lester captured his first Heart Men’s Golfer of the Week award of the season.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Golfer of the Week award winners on Monday, as a William Penn duo swept the honors with Sam Maceli capturing back-to-back Heart Women's Golfer of the Week and Jordan Lester captured his first Heart Men's Golfer of the Week award of the season.
Maceli and the Statesmen competed at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic last week and the Pittsburg, Kansas product shot rounds of 76 and 74 to finish 11th overall in a field of 80 golfers. As a team, William Penn finished in seventh.
Lester and the Statesmen competed in the William Penn Invite and Battle of Waterloo last week, as the senior won both events. Lester shot a 74 to win the William Penn Invitational. He then followed that up a first-place finish at the Battle of Waterloo with rounds of 71, 76, 78.
