First Heart Golfer of the Week Awards of 2022-23 Announced

In the first edition of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golfer of the Week awards, Laetitia Solombrino of Park University was selected the Heart Women's Golfer of the Week, while Junn Yong of Mount Mercy earned the Heart Men's Golfer of the Week honors.

Solombrino led the Pirates to a second-place team finish at the 2022 Klocke Classic and she won the individual crown, ahead of 62 other competitors.

The Pforzheim, Germany native shot a 75 in the first-round and a 78 in the second-round to take home first place.

Yong shot -5 under par for the tournament at the Klocke Classic last week for the Mustangs. He fired a first-round score of 68 and a second round of 71. The sophomore led Mount Mercy to a second-place team finish, while he finished second individually. Yong also competed in the Mid-South Classic last week and placed second overall. He shot scores of 68, 70 and 73.
