The Heart of America Athletic Conference made history this week, as they awarded the first-ever Heart Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week.
William Penn University swept the awards, as Makenzie Petersen earned the Heart Offensive Player of the Week award, while Madison Reed was selected the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.
The Statesmen went 2-0 last week, with a 15-10 win over Cornell College and a 13-4 victory over Wartburg.
In those two contests, Petersen scored seven goals and had two assists. In the win over Wartburg, she scored on all four of her shot attempts.
Reed had 12 saves in those two victories and posted a save percentage of 46.2%. She had seven saves against Cornell College and five against Wartburg.
