Quarles, Moore Capture Heart Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week Honors

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards on Monday.

Kaelin Quarles of Culver-Stockton earned the Heart Offensive Player of the Week, while Kaylen Moore of No. 10 Benedictine College was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Quarles and the Wildcats went 2-1 last week, with victories over Mount Mercy, 17-1, and Midland, 10-9.

The freshman became the program's single season record holder for goals in Sunday's win over Midland. She also tied the singe game goals record with eight against Mount Mercy. The Henderson, Nevada native scored 15 goals and had five assists on the week.

Moore earned her second-straight Defensive Player of the Week award, after leading the Ravens to two Heart victories last week, a 25-0 win over William Penn and a 31-2 win over Missouri Valley.

The sophomore finished the week with 35 draw controls, nine ground balls and two caused turnovers.
