St. Ambrose Sweeps Final Heart Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference continued its spring Player of the Week honors on Monday, as the conference announced its final Heart Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards of 2024.

St. Ambrose University swept the award, as Lauren Hoesly was selected the Heart Offensive Player of the Week and teammate Abby Taaffe earned the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.

Hoesly and the Fighting Bees went 1-1 last week in the Heart Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed, defeating No. 3 Culver-Stockton, 15-4, in the Heart semifinals, before falling in the Heart Championship game to No. 1 Benedictine, 18-7.

In the win over Culver-Stockton, the senior scored three goals and had two assists.

Taaffe, who is a junior defender from Sammamish, Wash., had four ground balls against Culver-Stockton and two against the Ravens.
