Heart Women’s Soccer Players of the Week – October 3

As the Heart of America Athletic Conference reaches the midway point of the conference season, the conference announced its Heart Women's Soccer Players of the Week on Monday.

Clarke University's Genevieve Cruz was selected the Heart Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Laura Riesenbeck of No. 8 nationally ranked Central Methodist earned the Heart Defensive Player of the Week award.

Cruz and the Pride defeated Graceland, 8-2, on September 27 and the senior had a career-high four goals in the victory. She also recorded an assist.

Riesenbeck and the nationally ranked Eagles, sit atop the Heart standings at 5-0-1, after defeating Evangel, 6-0, and Grand View, 2-1, last week.

The senior scored two goals and registered an assist, while helping lead the Eagles to the shutout victory over Evangel.
