MNU’s Assumma, Kinami of Missouri Valley Garner Heart Women’s Soccer Players of the Week

For the third time this season, No. 25 ranked MidAmerica Nazarene’s Sarah Assumma was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Rina Kinami of No. 11 ranked Missouri Valley garnered the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.

Assumma also earned this award back on September 26 and August 29.

The freshman recorded three goals and two assists last week for the nationally ranked Pioneers, in their 5-1 win over rival Baker and 2-1 win over Grand View.

In the win over Baker, she scored two goals and registered an assist and then followed that up with a goal and assist against the Vikings.

Kinami earned her first Heart Player of the Week award of the 2022 season, after helping lead Missouri Valley to wins over Graceland, 1-0, and Benedictine, 2-1.

The Tokorozawa, Japan native scored a goal in each victory and limited her opposition to just one goal and nine total shots in both Heart games combined.
