No. 1 Central Methodist Wins Fourth-Straight Heart Women’s Soccer Conference Tournament Title

On a cold night in Fayette, Mo., No. 1 Central Methodist defeated No. 3 MidAmerica Nazarene, 1-0, to capture their fourth-straight Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament Championship on Friday.

The Eagles and Pioneers have both secured a bid to the 2022 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship, as the Eagles were the 2022 Heart regular season and conference tournament champion, while the Pioneers secured a berth as the tournament runner-up.

The lone goal, came off of the foot of CMU sophomore in the 83rd minute, as she scored on a shot attempt from 20-yards out and snuck the goal just past the inside post, past keeper Marcelle Thedinga.

CMU improves to 18-2-1 on the season, while the Pioneers fall to 15-4.

Both teams will compete in the NAIA Women's Soccer First Round next Thursday, November 17.
