Three Heart Team's Selected for NAIA First Round

The Heart of America Athletic Conference will be represented by three teams in this week's NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship First Round.

No. 7 Central Methodist, No. 10 Missouri Valley and No. 23 MidAmerica Nazarene will all compete on Thursday, November 17 in the NAIA First Round.

CMU will host the Columbia Bracket at Battle HS in Columbia, Mo. The Eagles are the No. 1 seed in the bracket and are joined by No. 2 Aquinas (Mich.), No. 3 Jamestown (N.D.) and No. 4 Cardinal Stritch (Wisc.).

The Eagles will face No. 4 Cardinal Stritch on Thursday at 4:30 pm. With a win, they will face the winner of No. 2 Aquinas and No. 3 Jamestown on Saturday at 1 pm.

CMU has qualified for the event six times and earned a spot at NAIA Nationals this season after winning the Heart Conference Regular Season and Conference Tournament Championship.

Missouri Valley will travel to Prescott, Arizona for the Prescott Bracket, hosted by Embry-Riddle (Ariz.).

The Vikings are the No. 1 seed in the bracket and will face No. 4 Reinhardt (Ga.) on Thursday at 3 pm. The No. 2 seed in the bracket is Embry-Riddle and the No. 3 seed is Northwest (Wash.).

With a victory on Thursday, the Vikings will take on the winner of the No. 2 vs No. 3 seed on Saturday at 4 pm.

The Vikings earned an at-large berth to the NAIA National Championship, this marks their fourth appearance at the event.

Heart Conference Tournament Runner-Up, MidAmerica Nazarene will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana for the Indianapolis Bracket on Thursday.

The Pioneers are the No. 3 seed in the bracket and will take on No. 2 Campbellsville (Ky.) on Thursday at 2 pm. With a win, they would take on the winner of No. 1 Marian (Ind.) and No. 4 Bellevue (Neb.) on Saturday at 6 pm.

The Pioneers have now appeared in three NAIA Women's Soccer National Tournaments.
