Benitez, Znidarsic, Capture Final WinWon Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Awards of 2023

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced the final WinWon Women's Soccer Player of the Week awards of the 2023 season on Monday afternoon.

Christine Znidarsic of No. 24 ranked Benedictine captured the Offensive Player of the Week award, while Lola Benitez of No. 19 ranked Missouri Valley earned the Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Znidarsic and the Ravens entered the postseason as the No. 4 seed in the Heart Conference Tournament and defeated No. 5 Park, 3-1, in the Quarterfinals on Saturday.

The sophomore scored twice in the victory for BC and earned an assist on the third and final goal. BC will now travel to No. 1 CMU on Wednesday, in the Heart semifinals.

Benitez and the Vikings are the No. 2 seed in the Heart Conference Tournament and defeated No. 7 Clarke, 2-0, in the Heart Quarterfinals.

The freshman goalkeeper recorded her sixth shutout of the season against Clarke. Last week the Vikings also took on No. 16 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan, and won, 3-1. In the victory Benitez had a season-high seven saves.
