Heart Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week – Week Three (January 24)
In the third edition of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards, Grand View's Madison Green captured the Heart Field Athlete of the Week honor, while for the second time this season, CMU's Kailey Johnson was named the Heart Track Athlete of the Week.
Green won the women's weight throw at the Northwest Missouri State Open, taking first our of 38 total competitors, with her throw of 16.32m. That hit the 'A' standard, which also currently ranked 10th in the NAIA and second in the Heart.
The West Des Moines, Iowa native also made the finals of the shot put and finished ninth out of 35 competitors with a toss of 11.60m.
Johnson won the 60m hurdles at the NAIA/JUCO Invitational with her time of 9.00 and hit the 'A standard, punching her ticket to the 2022 NAIA Indoor National Championships.
In addition, she hit the 'B' standard in the 60m dash with her time of 7.81, breaking the Central Methodist school record in that event.
She was also part of the CMU 4x400meter relay team that took first-place in a time of 4:01.94.
