Shelby Birmingham, Madison Green Selected Heart Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday, as Madison Green of Grand View earned her second Heart Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor of the season, while Shelby Birmingham of Park earned her first Heart Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award of 2023.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday, as Madison Green of Grand View earned her second Heart Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor of the season, while Shelby Birmingham of Park earned her first Heart Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award of 2023.
Birmingham competed at the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcat Invite over the weekend and placed second in the 200m race in a time of 25.31 and hit the NAIA 'B' Standard of qualification for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
She also placed 12th in the women's 400m race in a time of 58.56 also hitting the NAIA 'B' Standard.
Green competed in the Grand View Field Meet and the Bearcat Invite. The junior won the weight throw with a mark of 17.08m, hitting the NAIA 'A' standard of qualification for nationals.
She followed that up with a 6th place finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.06m, hitting the NAIA 'B' Standard.
