Central Methodist Earns Second-Straight Heart Women’s Indoor Track & Field Conference Championship

In a tightly contest meet from beginning to end, Central Methodist University earned its second-straight Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Conference Championship with 179 total points, just four points ahead of second place MidAmerica Nazarene.

Benedictine College finished just seven points behind MNU with 168.

Caroline Cobo of Benedictine scored the most points of any female athlete at the championships with 32.5. She won the women's one-mile in a time of 5:16.99, and won the 4x800m relay with her teammates.

She also placed second in the women's 800m and a third-place finish in the 600m and 3,000m.

The Heart will announce the 2023 Coach of the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year, Track Athlete of the Meet and Field Athlete of the Meet on Monday, February 20.

The top three finishers in each event were be considered 2023 Heart Indoor Track & Field All-Conference athletes. 1st Place = First Team All-Conference, 2nd Place = Second Team All-Conference, 3rd Place = Third Team All-Conference, and fourth, fifth and sixth place finishers in each event will be considered 2022 Heart Indoor Track & Field Honorable Mention All-Conference.
