2023 Heart Women’s Indoor Track & Field Major Award Winners Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference completed the 2023 Heart Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, February 20 and the conference is now pleased to announce its Women's Indoor Track & Field Postseason awards.

The following awards were voted on by the Heart Track & Field head coaches:

 

2023 Heart Women's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year – Kenny Anderson – Central Methodist

For the third-straight season, Central Methodist University head coach Kenny Anderson has been selected the Heart Women's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year.

His squad has now won back-to-back Heart Women's Indoor Track & Field Conference Championships. This year the Eagles earned 179 total points, five points ahead of second place MidAmerica Nazarene, 175 points.

 

2023 Women's Indoor Track & Field Assistant Coach of the Year – George Robinson – Central Methodist

Coach Robinson is in his second season at CMU and he leads the distance and mid-distance squad for the Eagles. His athletes accounted for 67 of the 179 total points scored at the Heart Indoor Track & Field Championship, including a first-place finish in the women's 600m and 3,000m race walk.

 

2023 Women's Indoor Track & Field - Track Athlete of the Meet – Caroline Cobo - Benedictine

Caroline Cobo of Benedictine scored the most points of any female athlete at the Heart Women's Indoor Track & Field championships with 32.5. She won the women's one-mile in a time of 5:16.99, and won the 4x800m relay with her teammates.

She also placed second in the women's 800m and a third-place finish in the 600m and 3,000m.

 

2023 Women's Indoor Track & Field - Field Athlete of the Meet – Carly Lindenmeyer – MidAmerica Nazarene

Lindenmeyer has now won this award three-straight times. She had another outstanding meet for the Pioneers, as she placed first in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.58m and the women's high jump with a jump of 1.64m.
