Heart Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week – January 29

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced the Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday. 

Yanira Paninka of Central Methodist earned the Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor, while Madison Green of Grand View was selected the Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Paninka hit the 'A' Standard of qualification for the NAIA National Championships in the women's 3,000m race walk with her first-place finish at the Principia College Relays with a time of 15:56.40.

She also led the women's 4x400m relay team to a first-place finish in a time of 4:05.14.

Green also hit the 'A' Standard of qualification for the NAIA National Championships in the women's weight throw at the Fighting Bee Invitational, hosted by St. Ambrose.

The senior from West Des Moines, Iowa won the weight throw with a toss of 17.60m, that is No. 1 in the Heart and No. 7 in the NAIA.
