Montenegro, Green Earn Heart Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards on Monday, as Dayana Montenegro of Central Methodist won her third Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor of 2024, while Madison Green of Grand View won the Heart Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the second-straight week.

Montenegro broke both the program and meet record in the 600-yard run at the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Open last week.

The junior ran the event in 1:22.84, which hit the NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification for the NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championships.

Additionally, the Cali, Colombia native broke the school record in the women's 400m run and placed third overall out of 58 competitors with her time of 56.90. That time also hit the NAIA 'A' Standard.
