Heart Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced – February 12

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards on Monday, as Brandon Williams of William Penn University earned the Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, while Daniel Adams of Clarke University was selected the Heart Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week and Abigaille Batu-Tiako of William Penn earned the Heart Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Batu-Tiako had a personal best mark of 5.53m in the women's long jump at the Pittsburg State Gorilla Classic last Friday.

The senior placed ninth overall and hit the NAIA 'B' Standard of qualification for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.

Williams broke the WPU school record in the men's 1,000m run with a time of 2:29.56 and placed first overall at the St. Ambrose Tune Up meet.

He also hit the NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.

Adams and the Pride competed at the UW-Platteville Invite last Saturday and the freshman won the high jump with a jump of 2.02m.

Adams hit the NAIA 'B' Standard of qualification for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
