2022 Heart Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Postseason Awards Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference completed the 2022 Heart Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, May 7 on the campus of William Penn University. The Heart is now pleased to announce its 2022 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Postseason awards.

The following awards were voted on by the Heart Track & Field head coaches:

2022 Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year – Jerry Monner – Grand View University

Coach Monner and the Vikings earned back-to-back Heart Outdoor Championships on Saturday, as they won the event with 163 points, 13.5 points ahead of second-place Central Methodist, who earned 149.5 points. He also led the Vikings to Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field titles in 2017 and 2016.

2022 Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field Assistant Coach of the Year – Hunter Donovan – Grand View University

Coach Donovan helped lead the Viking throwers to 65 total points at the Conference Championships, including a first-place finish for Madison Green in the Hammer Throw at 54.00m and a first-place finish in the discus for Green with her Heart conference record mark of 48.34m.

2022 Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field Co-Field Athlete of the Meet – Bailey Turner – Park University

Turner led the Pirates with two first-place finishes over the weekend, with a first-place finish in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.66m. That hit the 'B' standard and qualifies her for the NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. She also placed first in the triple jump with a mark of 11.97m, which hit the NAIA 'A' standard.

2022 Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field Co-Field Athlete of the Meet – Madison Green – Grand View University

Green scored 23 points for the Heart Champion Vikings, with her first-place finishes in the discus and hammer throw and sixth place finish in the shot put.

2022 Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field Co-Track Athlete of the Meet – Caroline Cobo – Benedictine College

Cobo scored a total of 29.5 points, earning the Highest Point Scorer honors of the Women's Championship. She placed first in the 1,500m in a time of 4:49.09 and second in the 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 11:18.20. She also placed second in the 800m in a time of 2:16.58.

2022 Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field Co-Track Athlete of the Meet – Kylar Brown – MidAmerica Nazarene University

Brown won the 100m in a time of 11:97 to hit the NAIA 'B' standard and placed second in the 200m in a time of 24.43, hitting the 'A' standard.

She also took home first place in the 4x100m in a time of 47.48 and scored a total of 28 points.
