Heart Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week – March 27

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday, as Eden Clifton of Graceland University was named the Heart Track Athlete of the Week and Kiana Ortiz of Culver-Stockton College earned the Heart Field Athlete of the Week.

Clifton earned three first-place finishes at the Viking Invitational last week, winning the women's 100-meter dash in a time of 12.26, she also won the women's 200-meter dash in a time of 25.89 and helped lead the Yellowjackets 4x100-meter relay team to a first-place finish time of 52.85.

Ortiz broke the Culver-Stockton program record in the women's javelin with a throw of 37.91m to place first at the Grand View Viking Invitational. She outperformed all 13 competitors. Her mark is the top throw in the Heart so far in 2023.
