Grand View Sweeps Heart Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

On Monday afternoon, the Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, as Grand View University swept each award.

Madison Green earned the Heart Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week award, while teammate Morgan Lawson was selected the Heart Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Lawson competed at the Jim Duncan Invite on Friday and placed third overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:13.33. That time hit the NAIA 'A' Standard, qualifying her for the NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.

She is currently sixth in the NAIA and first in the Heart in that event.

Green also competed at the Jim Duncan Invite in the women's discus and hammer throw. The junior placed fourth in both events with a mark of 47.17m in the discus and 53.82m in the hammer throw.

The West Des Moines, Iowa native also hit the NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification in both events.
