2023 Previous Winners Highlight Heart Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday.

Madison Green of Grand View won her second-straight Heart Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week award, while Gizel Clayton of Central Methodist won her second Heart Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week of the 2023 season.

Clayton competed at the Georgia Tech Invite in three events, the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter and 100-meter dash.

She broke the school record in the 100-meter hurdles with her time of 13.63, she now sits No. 1 in the Heart and No. 3 in the NAIA with that time.

Green took on the DeBacker Invitational and competed in two events, hammer throw and discus.

She hit the NAIA 'A' standard in the hammer throw with a mark of 54.21m and placed second. She is now No. 1 in the Heart in that event and No. 2 in the NAIA.

The West Des Moines, Iowa product also placed third in the discus with a throw of 41.03m.
