
Heart Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week – September 19
In this week’s edition of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week awards, Madison McClain of Culver-Stockton College earned the Heart Attacker of the Week award, while Park University’s Jullia Alvarez was named the Heart Setter of the Week for the second-straight week and Vivianna Sanchez of Evangel earned the Heart Defender of the Week accolades.
In this week's edition of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week awards, Madison McClain of Culver-Stockton College earned the Heart Attacker of the Week award, while Park University's Jullia Alvarez was named the Heart Setter of the Week for the second-straight week and Vivianna Sanchez of Evangel earned the Heart Defender of the Week accolades.
McClain and the Wildcats went 2-0 last week with a 3-2 win over Graceland and a 3-1 victory over William Penn.
The Cooper, Missouri native averaged 4.33 kills per set and 4.78 digs per set on the week. She also hit .260 in those two matches, with 22 kills against Graceland and 17 against WPU.
Alvarez has now won back-to-back Heart Setter of the Week awards. This week, the Pirates edged No. 15 Central Methodist in five sets, 3-2, and defeated Evangel, 3-0.
She accumulated 82 assists in the two matches and averaged 10.25 assists per set, including an impressive 57 assists against CMU. She also had 21 total digs on the week, to average 2.63 digs per set.
Sanchez had 17 blocks on the week for Evangel, averaging 1.55 per set. She also had 16 total kills, to average 1.45 per set.
