First Molten Women's Volleyball Player of the Week Awards of 2023 Announced!

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is excited to announce the first edition of the Molten Women's Volleyball Player of the Week awards of the 2023 season.

Delaney Miller of No. 19 ranked Central Methodist was selected the Conference Attacker of the Week, while Lynsey Day of Missouri Valley earned the Heart Setter of the Week and Evelyn Arreola of Benedictine College earned the Heart Defender of the Week honors.

Miller had double digit kills in two matches last week, a 13 kill performance against No. 22 ranked Ottawa (Kan.) and a career-best 19 kills against Xavier (La.). For the week, the senior hit .494 and totaled 46 kills.

Day and the Vikings started off the season with a 3-0 showing at the Vikings Invitational, with all three victories coming in sweeps.

The junior collected 105 assists in those three matches with an average of 11.67 assists per set. She also averaged 3.67 digs per set. The Vikings defeated Southwestern (Kan.), Tabor (Kan.) and Friends (Kan.) all 3-0.

Arreola and the Ravens went 2-0 last week with 3-1 victories over the University of Science and Arts (Okla.) and Bethany (Kan.).

In those two matches, the senior averaged 5.5 digs per set and had 29 digs in the win over Bethany. She also had six assists in that victory.
