Heart Announces Molten Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Molten Women's Volleyball Players of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Mary Pat Taylor and Hokulani Sagapolu from Benedictine College earned the Conference Attacker and Defender of the Week awards, while Arianna Marino of No. 6 nationally ranked Park University earned the Heart Setter of the Week.

Taylor and the Ravens went 2-1 last week with wins over University of St. Mary (Kan.) and Oklahoma City University.

The Omaha, Nebraska native had double-digit kills in all three matches including 16 against USM. For the week she averaged 3.75 kills per set and averaged 3.00 digs per set.

Sagapolu had an impressive week for the Ravens, she averaged 4.67 digs per set on the week and 3.00 kills per set. She collected 56 total digs for the week.

Marino and the Pirates went 2-0 last week with a 3-1 win over the University of St. Mary and a 3-0 sweep of No. 14 Ottawa (Kan.).  

In the two matches, Marino had 81 total assists, good for 11.57 assists per year. The Pinerolo, Italy native had 41 assists against USM and 40 against Ottawa. The freshman also averaged 3.14 digs per set.
