Heart Unveils Molten Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week – September 18

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Molten Women's Volleyball Players of the Week on Monday.

For the second-straight week, Mary Pat Taylor of Benedictine College has been selected the Conference Attacker of the Week, while teammates Katrina Davis and Ashlyn Halford of (RV) MidAmerica Nazarene earned the Conference Setter and Defender of the Week honors.

Taylor and the Ravens went 2-1 in Heart play last week with a 3-1 win over No. 20 ranked Central Methodist and a 3-0 win over Clarke. They also fell to Mount Mercy, 3-1.

In the win over CMU, Taylor averaged 5.25 kills per set with 21 kills on 58 attempts. For the week, she had 44 total kills and 54 digs, averaging 4.91 digs per set for the week.

Davis and the Pioneers went 3-0 last week with two conference wins, a 3-0 win over Baker and a 3-1 win over Culver-Stockton, followed up by a 3-0 non-conference win over No. 12 Bellevue (Neb.).

The junior averaged 11.7 assists per set and 4.4 digs per game. She had an impressive 49 assists against Culver-Stockton.

Halford led the Pioneers defense with 60 total digs last week, averaging 6.0 digs per set. She also dished out 13 assists in the win over Culver-Stockton.
