Molten Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Molten Women's Volleyball Players of the Week on Monday, as Alyvia Johnson of William Penn was named the Attacker of the Week, while Krystal Brauner of No. 20 ranked Central Methodist is the Defender of the Week and Amber Allen was selected the Setter of the Week.

Johnson averated 17.7 kills per match and 17.3 digs per match in the Statesmen's three matches last week. The junior had 53 total kills and 52 total digs, including 24 kills and 20 digs in the 3-2 win over Baker.

This mark's the second Heart Defender of the Week award for Brauner this season, the other came on September 4.

This past week, the Eagles went 3-0 with three sweeps over Missouri Valley, Clarke and Mount Mercy.

In the three victories, Brauner averaged 5.0 digs per set and 1.11 assists per set. In the win over Mount Mercy, the senior had 25 digs and seven assists.

This is also the second Heart Setter of the Week for Allen in 2024. The Ravens also went 3-0 last week with a five-set win over (RV) MidAmerica Nazarene and two sweeps against Peru State and Graceland.
