Johnson, Halford, Marino Selected Molten Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Molten Women's Volleyball Player of the Week award winners on Monday. 

Teammates Mikayla Johnson and Ashlyn Halford of MidAmerica Nazarene were selected Conference Attacker and Defender of the Week respectively, while Arianna Marino of No. 8 nationally ranked Park University was selected the Conference Setter of the Week for the third-straight week and fourth time this season.

Johnson and the Pioneers improved to 13-10 overall and 9-5 in the Heart with wins over (RV) Benedictine, 3-1, and Missouri Valley, 3-1.

The senior had 23 kills against Benedictine and 13 against Missouri Valley. For the week she averaged 4.50 kills per set and hit. 380.

Teammate Halford, averaged 5.6 digs per set in the 2-0 week and had 10 total assists.

Marino continued to success last week with 72 assists in two matches, a 3-0 win over Baker and a 3-0 win over No. 19 CMU.

She averaged 12.00 assists per set and added 16 total digs and five total blocks. The Pirates are now 24-2 on the year and 14-0 in the Heart.
