Graceland Women’s Volleyball Selected for the Musco Team Sportsmanship Award

The Graceland University women's volleyball program has been selected for the Musco Team Sportsmanship Award for the sport of women's volleyball, announced by the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

The Yellowjackets earned the award for their display of the NAIA's Five Core Character Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.

"This marks the third year of the Musco Team Sportsmanship award and to continue to honor teams that play the game the right way and are servant leaders in the community, shows how important these qualities are to the conference," said Heart Commissioner, Lori Thomas. "Coach McDole continues to lead his team with those five core character values in mind and the Yellowjackets are deserving of this award."

Teams are nominated throughout the season by Athletics Administrators, Game Officials, Coaches, Student-Athletes and Fans.

Here is what the nominators had to say about the Yellowjackets:

"Graceland women's volleyball is led by such a servant leader and coach, in Coach McDole. His team is respectful and lighthearted and through the entirety of the program they are always friendly and respectful and show good character and sportsmanship to their opponents and officials."

For the fall season, the Heart will be awarding its Musco Team Sportsmanship award to one team from each sport of football, women's soccer, men's soccer, women's volleyball, women's cross country and men's cross country.
