No. 8 Park University captured two awards this week, as Grecia Ung was named the Heart Attacker of the Week, while teammate Angelina Rodriguez was selected the Heart Setter of the Week.
Mount Mercy's Rylie Mussman earned the Heart Defender of the Week award.
Ung and the Pirates went 2-1 at their host Park Invitational last weekend. The senior earned 63 total kills in three matches with 29 kills against Cornerstone (Mich.) and 20 against Wayland Baptist (Texas). She also had six service aces and 33 total digs.
Rodriguez averaged 11.00 assists per set for the Pirates, with 121 total assists in the three matches. The San Antonio, Texas native had 50 assists against Cornerstone, averaging 12.50 in that set. The junior also had 34 total digs on the week and 10 kills.
Mussman and the Mustangs competed in four matches last week. The senior set a new school record for digs in a match with 48 against St. Francis (Ill.). The previous record was 37 back in 2009. For the week, Mussman averaged 5.16 digs per set.
