Heart Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week, presented by Molten for Week 5 Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the Heart Women's Volleyball Players of the Week, presented by Molten.

For the second-straight week, Kyla Ellis of Culver-Stockton College was selected the Heart Defender of the Week, while Ellie Dougherty of Grand View earned her first Heart Attacker of the Week award of 2024 and Katrina Davis of MidAmerica Nazarene earned her second Heart Setter of the Week of the season.

Dougherty collected 46 total kills in three Heart matches last week for Grand View. The junior averaged 4.18 kills per set, including an impressive 18 kills against No. 14 ranked Park University. In a three set win over Peru State, the Omaha, Nebraska native had three blocks and 15 kills.

Daivs and the Pioneers went 2-1 in Heart play last week, including a five set win over No. 18 ranked Central Methodist.

For the week, the senior recorded 125 assists and 36 digs. In a four-set win over Mount Mercy, she had 44 assists, averaging 11.0 assists per set.

Ellis averaged an impressive 6.27 digs per set in three matches last week for the Wildcats with a total of 69 digs. In a four-set win over Stephens College (Mo.), the senior had 33 digs.
